Mi-Co User Days Continues Support of Communities in Schools of Wake County

Released on = March 29, 2006, 9:11 am

Press Release Author = Barrett Joyner / Mi-Co

Industry = Software

Press Release Summary = Research Triangle Park, NC. For the fourth year in a row,
Mi-Co, the mobile data capture company, will raise funds for Communities In Schools
of Wake County as part of the Mi-Co User Days' activities. The Mi-Forms user day
event is being held on April 25 and 26 at the Radisson Governor's Inn, Research
Triangle Park, NC

"We are extremely pleased to continue our support of the worthwhile efforts of
Communities In Schools of Wake County. The tutoring and mentoring programs
implemented by CIS of Wake County have a major impact on kids staying in school and
achieving, not only in school, but in life" said Jim Clary, CEO of Mi-Co.

Of the funds received from sponsors and attendees of the Mi-Forms user group
conference, ten percent is presented to a non profit, community organization each
year. This is the fourth year that CIS of Wake County has been selected by the
Mi-Co User Days Executive Committee.

"Corporate support like this gift from Mi-Co show the true commitment of businesses
to the education and wellbeing of children in Wake County," stated Executive
Director Susan B. Hansell. "All students face challenges, but students living in
urban poverty often face academic, family, and behavioral challenges of greater
proportion and with greater frequency. Schools alone cannot solve the complex and
diverse problems faced by today\'s youth that lead them to academic failure and the
every-increasing risk of dropping out of school. But with corporate and community
support we can begin to solve some problems one child at a time."

"As part of our User Day, we want to support an organization that has a real
impact on our community and has a commitment to put their volunteers and their funds
to work helping people," said Barrett Joyner, VP of Marketing and Sales Strategy at
Mi-Co, "CIS of Wake County has a great track record, with 82 cents of every dollar
raised going to programs and services for the children of Wake County. In fact, the
return on investment is phenomenal with a cost of $1000 per year per student to keep
them in a learning center when compared to $65000 if they get caught up in the
juvenile justice system."
